Claire Elise Bocher,/bu:'SeI/boo-SHAY born on March 17, 1988. The name she is given is Grimes. 2] 3] The variety of her first music was described as "lo the fi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". She has also added elements of hip hop electronic, rock and hip hop. Her songs often incorporate science-fiction and feminist themes in her songs. Five studio albums have been released by her. Grimes is a native of Vancouver and later moved to Montreal. The singer began her independent music career in late early 2000s. In 2010, she released two albums through Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. The album was released in 2012 and Visions the third album she released on her studio. The band was signed to 4AD. Visions comprises the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and was awarded the Canadian music industry Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. In the years following, her fourth studio album, Art Angels, was released in 2015 , and was met with reviews of praise, as several magazines called it the top album of the year. In 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes, who is also an actor and judge in Alter Ego's competitions for music, performed as vocalist for Cyberpunk 2077 which was released 20th of January, 2020.
